Netbook recapitulate - Asus Eee Pc 901

The Asus Eee Pc 901 appeared on the Top 5 Notebooks for 2009 list that we came up with recently. With an 8.9-inch screen, the Asus Eee Pc 901 is precisely one of the tiniest netbooks out there but it makes up for it in discrete ways. It has a 1024 x 600 resolution and for its processing requirements, it is adequate with a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor. Furthermore, it is supported by 1 Gb of Ram (Ddr2). It has 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features, three Usb ports, an integrated Ethernet, a webcam and stereo speakers.

The netbook is able to keep up with some tasks running simultaneously and its battery life is claimed to be 8 hours. It may be a budget netbook but it shares many features with pricier ones. It has 802.11n Wi-Fi and it has gesture-compatible mouse controls.

Asus Netbook

Created to be a great version of the Eee Pc 900, the Asus Eee Pc 901 has a charming design. Instead of a matte coated lid, it is now slick and we appreciate the small detail of its hinge being given a circular, silver touch.

The Asus Eee Pc 901 retains the keyboard of the Eee Pc 900 but many are gushing over its trackpad. The user also would not want to type on it for long periods as the keyboard is tiny as well. We propose that before impulsively purchasing a netbook, the user has to test the keyboard to see if it's acceptable. The trackpad any way is great than most. It even has left and right click buttons.

We observed that with the Xp version, applications were launched speedily and we could conveniently open some windows without experiencing any hitches. The Asus Eee Pc 901 didn't buckle under having Skype open along with Microsoft applications and a media player simultaneously.

Specs - available Options (from Asus'website)

Cpu - Intel Atom N270

Ram - 1Gb (Ddr2)

Screen Size - 8.9 inch

Operating theory - Genuine Windows Xp Home or Gnu Linux

Battery Life - 8 hours (manufacturer's claim)

Graphics - Integrated Gma 950

The longer battery life and its novel invent are exact pluses. We particularly like how the trackpad is responsive to the user's touch.

What we dislike about it is the keyboard size, in which only someone with tiny hands could grow accustomed to. We won't propose it for population who would be typing for more than an hour at a time. We also don't like the noise arrival from the fan. We believe there must have been a way for the builder to keep the noise level to a minimum.

This netbook would be ideal if it's mostly used for activities that don't wish much hands-on such as watching videos, checking finances, or paying bills online. If your tasks are slight to these types, it should be a good match for you.
