Asus Disney Netpal - Great Parental control

Two giants have come together to originate a netbook designed for children 6 - 12 years old. Disney and Asus teamed up to originate the Disney Netpal. The Netpal includes over 24 parental control options for parents and a Disney theme browser for the kids. The Netpal comes in two designed lids; Disney Princess Pink that has pink florals and Disney Magic Blue which has rows of minute Mickey Mouse icons.

Why Kids Like the Netpal

Asus Netbook

The Disney Netpal lets kids choose from more than 10 customizable Disney character themes such as; Tinkerbell, Cars, Club Penguin, Disney superior Characters, Disney Fairies, Disney Princesses, Vintage Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, Wall-E, Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers. Kids can even attach their popular character icons to email addresses.

Some other things kids will like

  • Disney Bobblehead Software lets kids insert their photograph on top of bodies and lets them download into videos, postcards, and play funny dance scenes.
  • Radio Disney widget streams real-time music. Also lets kids submit song requests.
  • Includes a driving, whole an memory game.
  • Has a photo scrapbook.
  • 15 widgets together with a stopwatch, digital memo pad, and a calculator.
  • Built in webcam & microphone.

Why Parents like the Disney Netpal

The Netpal has over two dozen parental control options and email filters so parents can control their child's online safety.

Other things parents can do

  • Pre-select email correspondence options.
  • Pre-select browsers.
  • Pre-select websites their kids visit and the programs they use.
  • Parents can program days and times their kids have way to these programs.
  • The Disney browser gives the parents an easy way to check where their child has been on the internet.
  • Rugged and durable.
  • Spill proof keyboard.
  • Windows Xp allows for time to come software installs as your child grows older and requires separate needs.

I've listed the pros but what are the cons?

The keyboard is small. I have an Asus netbook, which I love, but the keyboard is small. Many times I wished I had smaller fingers. Other than that my netbook works great. I read on a few forums that Disney says you can upgrade to 2Gb memory, but in reality they are saying you can't at this time. I assume this will be corrected in the future.

I can see where setting all the parental options would be time consuming, but once you get them set you should only have to do maintenance. If you are thinking of buying your child their first computer, the Disney Netpal is assuredly worth checking into.
